BILL HOUSTON – BIO

Bill Houston's songwriting career began in 1971 with the IMAX film "North of Superior" filmed entirely in Northwestern Ontario. The song, "Ojibway Country" which Bill wrote and performed for that film has since become a classic and has even found its way into school textbooks.

Bill has also written for radio and television, and is famous nationwide as the author of "The King of White Otter Lake", a song that has captured the imagination of Canadians from coast to coast.Fellow singer/songwriter, Rodney Brown has recently included "The King of White Otter Lake"on his new CD "Northland".

Bill's most recent CD "Bring Back The Music" is a diverse mix of folk, old-time jazz, and blues and was produced by renowned folk/roots producer Paul Mills.

BILL HOUSTON - BIO

Born in Whitehorse, Yukon. Son of a fur trader and school teacher. Grew up in Sioux Lookout Ontario. Backpacked through Europe and the Middle East in 1963-64. Worked as a printer, railroad section man, farmer, kitchen porter, O.R. attendant, musician, postal employee, singer and songwriter.

Interested in alternate history, alternate archaeology, alternate medicine, alternate science, and sometimes alternate reality. Dislike organized religion, right wing extremists, left wing extremists, middle of the road extremists, suicide bombers, greedy politicians, corrupt government officials, self righteous religious nut bars, talent contests.....  the list goes on.
